An important component of the WomensTrust mission is to inspire others to replicate our model. We have recently launched three separate affiliate partners with microlending programs reaching eight towns and villages in Ghana and two towns in Kenya with over 400 loan clients.
The Yonso Project is a group inspired by WomensTrust. They trained with our Pokuase staff in June 2007 and have since opened their own office. WomensTrust loan administrators (Team Pokuase) were hired to train the staff of a start-up microlending program in Central Ghana. We hosted founder Nick Caccavo and his team of US students, who in turn sent their Ghanaian team to Pokuase for how-to instruction. They returned to their town fully equipped with our best practices and our template for success.
World Class was begun by a core of Skidmore alumnae, class of 1971, who, at their 35th reunion decided to reunite and reengage the passion of their undergraduate years by partnering with the town of Amasaman in Ghana.
